Taking one store and one worker, write a little story about your shopping trip that includes that shop and that worker. Then write a second story (or a continuation of the first story) about the second shop you chose and the second worker, then write about the third shop and the third worker. Remember, the more detail you put into your story, the more effective your studying is. :)

We really need to practice our storytelling! That's ok, we have a bit of time before our project on the 18th, 19th, and 20th of November (test on the 15th).
Here are some thoughts: why not divide up your verbs into categories which make sense to you in a story? Did you notice that Mme GZ was able to put 95% of the verbs on the board without looking at her notes? That's because I thought about them in the order of a story. Like this, maybe...

I'm looking for the candy store
I can't find the candy store!
Oh, there it is.
I see the candy store.
I'm finding the candy store!

Another thing you might try is seeing if you can see some repetitive patterns. For example, it should be pretty evident that you say "at the candy store" a lot! As long as you know how to say that, you have lots of your work done for you. And are you noticing that most of the sentences start with "I"?

Join them together with your adverbs of continuity.

You then chose the most popular answers for each of the 5 questions, wrote the answers on a sticky note, then put them on the board under the question (which I wrote there). It looked like a lot for an intérro, but it was really just five sentences plus their negatives. We spent a lot of time practicing the negative, as we're having a bit of trouble with it. We did an activity whereby you got into groups of 5-6 and Person 1 asked a question to Person 2, who answered the question in the negative, then Person 2 asked a question to Person 3 who answered it in the negative, etc. I saw some improvement in your use of the negative after that.
Homework: practice your negatives, either in writing or in your head. As well, spend a few minutes looking over your notes since the beginning of the trimester, as we're going to do a practice test tomorrow. I'll give you 5 minutes after the intérro to study as well.

le 12 septembre: We didn't have a very long class due to the performance at the Lester Centre in Period 1 (which took much longer than we thought!). I handed out some booklets for you to use for les intérros, which are small spelling tests that we're going to have almost every day.

le 11 septembre: Today we had our alphabet quiz; great job! I gave you a double-sided sheet for translation; please make sure that it's finished for tomorrow. :)
le 10 septembre: We practiced the alphabet today, and sounded out some words based on our knowledge of pronunciation. You guys did a really good job! Remember that you have a quiz tomorrow. We went on to finish up the subjects that we can have an opinion on:

le 9 septembre: Today we practiced the alphabet again, and decided that we will indeed be ready for our alphabet oral test on Wednesday. We then practiced our conversation a bit today, and listened to the audio file that I made with Zimm over the weekend. We added:

We then went over our favourite types of TV shows and movies, the food we like, and our favourite types of music. We got this far:

We skipped the next few, because they required knowledge of numbers and months, and went down to "What do you like to do?" We brainstormed some ideas based on what you like to do in your spare time:

le 4 septembre: Today I handed out the course outlines and we went over them, then we began our new unit, "Pas de peur, pas de limite". This unit is designed to have you feel comfortable with a general, introductory French conversation. You'll spend most of your time working on the verbal, but you will also have to know how to spell the vocabulary we're learning. I handed out our vocabulary sheet, but we didn't have time to work on it. No homework, unless you'd like to just look over the sheet. Please don't feel you have to do all that translating! :)
le 3 septembre: Today we met each other, and divided into two groups according to whether we like French. I then made you take the other team's side and express an opposite opinion about French. And that was about it! :)
